1. x-direction wind
- 30km
- 10km
The overall aspect of the situation of 30km case is that the wind begin blowing in the center and blowing to the outside as time goes by . At KST 15:00 on August 12, a strong x-wind is formed in the center but the range of its increase is smaller and the range of change is larger than the case of 20km.
10km case is similar to case of 20km. We can see that the wind entering to the center and coming out from the center are much weaker than 20km. Also, it can be confirmed that the strong x-wind blowing to the city center at KST 15:00 on August 12 has remarkably decreased then case of 20km
2. z-direction wind
- 30km
- 10km
z-wind of the 30km case is similar to that of 20km, but there is strong current for rising and falling then case of 20km. In particular, the strong upward trend in the city center around KST 15:00 on August 12 is stronger than it is in 20km.
In the case of 10km, the situation is also similar to that of 20km, and it can be confirmed that the rising and falling air currents have decreased significantly compared to case of 20km, and that the intensity of strong rising air currents that occurred around KST 15:00 on August 12 has also decreased than case of 20km
3. temperature
- 30km
- 10km
The more night it gets, the lower the overall temperature and overall center of city has higher temperature than the outside of city. In the afternoon, the temperature rises doing that the center of the city appears to increase faster. however the overall increase in temperature is higher than case of 20km.
The temperature of the city is higher than that of the outer shell around KST 15:00 on August 11, but it’s intensity is not remarkable. Also, the temperature tends to decrease as night falls. However, the temperature in the city center increased significantly around KST 15:00 on August 12. this difference result at the heat island phenomenon. However, compared to 20km, the range of temperature rise in the city center is small.
look at this T2m and bottom level temperature graph, the red line represents the bottom level temperature, and the black line represents the temperature at the point of upper 2m. the bottom level is relatively hotter than the top 2m level, so you can infer that the heat island phenomenon has warmed the ground and produced this result.
In addition, since the maximum value of the bottom temperature in the case of 30 km is 29.83, and the maximum value of the bottom temperature in the case of 10 km is 29.69, it can be concluded that the larger the city is, the stronger the heat island phenomenon becomes.
